The competition

The World Finals
Bocuse d'Or is by far the world's most prestigious and demanding chef competition. The world final is held every other year in January on Sirha Lyon. The competition was established in 1987 by master chef Paul Bocuse, and has since evolved into a global culinary competition.

Bocuse d'Or Europe.
Bocuse d'Or Europe is the European qualifying competition for the international final of the Bocuse d'Or.The ten best candidates in the competition in Trondheim Spektrum on March 19-20 will advance to the world final in Lyon in 2025.

About Paul Bocuse

Paul Bocuse was a French chef and cookbook author. He is considered one of the best chefs of recent times and was a key exponent of the so-called nouvelle cuisine or new French cuisine, a style of cooking that emphasized freshness, lightness and pure flavours. He was the initiator of the prestigious Bocuse d'Or (meaning Bocuse Gold) competition. This competition was first held in Lyon in 1987. Paul Bocuse held the role of President of the Bocuse d'Or until 2016, when his son Jèròme Bocuse took over the title. His legacy in the culinary world continues to live on even after his passing in 2018.

Bocuse d'Or Europe 2024

MARCH 19 - 20, 2024 IN TRONDHEIM

GL events is the official licensee of the Bocuse d'Or brand and handles the organization of the Bocuse d'Or worldwide. They are an important premise and partner in creating the best European final ever in Bocuse d'Or Europe.

Trondheim and Trøndelag applied to host Bocuse d'Or Europe (also called Host City Bocuse d'Or Europe) as a further initiative to highlight the region's culture and food traditions nationally and internationally. We are hosting the 20 European countries in March 2024 on behalf of the food nation Norway, we have the following main goals for the project:

Goal 1: Increased recruitment to all industries in the food value chain.

Goal 2: Norway, Trøndelag and Trondheim as a recognized destination for food tourism, in a European context

Goal 3: Increased profiling and export of Norwegian produce


The project is a collaboration between Trøndelag County Council, the Municipality of Trondheim and the Chamber of Commerce in the Trondheim region.

We would like to thank the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries for good and important funding based on the strategy for Norway as a food nation.
