Welcome to
BocuseD'or Europe
19-20 March 2024!

Host City Trondheim

Trøndelag has had a fantastic development as a food region. Talented chefs and world-class ingredients have been noticed - and now we are looking forward to hosting the event on behalf of Norway.

Bocuse d'Or is a national event that gives us a unique opportunity to showcase the food in Norway and ingredients from all over the country.

Did you know that Norway is already the nation with the most medals in Bocuse d'Or?

Håvard werkland - chef of the year 2023

Håvard Werkland won the title of Chef of the Year 2023 in Stavanger on September 18. Werkland is accompanied by Leon Haarberg Nilsen as commis and Lisbeth Wollum Størvold as coach.

Werkland is thus Norway's candidate for Bocuse d'Or Europe 2024, which will be held on home soil in Trondheim on September 19-20, and then for the Bocuse d'Or World Final in 2025 - the world's most difficult and prestigious chef competition.

The Chef of the Year is selected by the Bocuse Academy - an association for Norway's former participants in the Bocuse d'Or competition since 1987.

The competition

In Bocuse d'Or, participants compete in teams and against the clock. The task is to prepare two dishes, often a meat and a fish dish, based on ingredients that represent the host country.

The selection of Norwegian ingredients is made by an international committee of chefs during the fall, and will be based on ingredients that promote Norway as a food nation.

The various teams can also use one or more ingredients from their own country to highlight geographical identity in the finished dish.
